Objects
Spending the majority of your career as an in-house brand designer, you end up designing lots of things for product launches, events, collectibles, and just general merch for your typically mildly and sometimes frightening unmildly obssessed fans.
This is a selection of physical objects I have designed during my years at IBM and OnePlus.
What I did:
IBM Club NYC Poster
IBM Club chapters across the United States work to focus local charity and volunteering efforts made by the IBMer community in each chapter’s specific region. To help relaunch the IBM Club New York City chapter, I created an illustrated poster and sticker set to promote awareness throughout all of our NYC offices.
To my knowledge, this illustration still hangs in the IBM NYC marketing studio today.
Since its founding, OnePlus has held a close relationship with its community of fans, who are invaluable to our team through their support and help in testing much of our new software and products. To thank them, we frequently create limited edition soft goods to give away at community events, pop-ups, and product launch keynotes.
I designed the majority of these products, working closely with our factory vendor right here in Shenzhen. A cab ride away, I have the unique opportunity of working closely with our manufacturing partners on refining the design and quality of these products.
6T Launch Event Pins
Enamel Pin Packaging
While going through packaging options for the enamel pin set we created, we realized that none of the options were on-brand with the unboxing experience OnePlus fans have come to expect. So, we sketched our own, and through a few iterations made it a reality.
Open Ears Forum - San Francisco
PeiCoin
An April Fools’ campaign for ol’ Carl. For a few lucky fans, we sent them an actual, physical coin.
